Google's job is to connect searchers with answers. Your job is to have those answers on your website. If you're a mobile repair shop in Delhi, think about what people Google: "iPhone screen repair cost Delhi," "phone not charging fix near me," "best mobile repair shop Karol Bagh."
Now create pages that answer those exact questions. A page titled "iPhone Screen Repair in Delhi — Prices, Time & What to Expect" will rank for those searches. Not because you gamed the algorithm, but because you literally answered the question.
Write like a human. Don't stuff keywords. Don't write "we are the best mobile repair shop in Delhi" five times in one paragraph. Just be helpful, be specific, and be thorough. Google is scarily good at telling the difference between helpful content and keyword-stuffed garbage.
2. Technical Setup: Don't Let Your Website Sabotage Itself
This is where most small business websites fail silently. The site loads slowly, doesn't work on mobile, has no meta descriptions, no sitemap, and no SSL certificate. Google sees all of this and quietly ranks you lower.

3. Backlinks: Get Other Websites to Vouch for You
This is the hardest part and the most impactful. When other websites link to yours, Google sees it as a vote of confidence. The more quality sites that link to you, the higher you rank. It's like recommendations — if 10 trusted people recommend a restaurant, you're more likely to go.

Here's the new frontier: people are increasingly using ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity to find businesses and get recommendations. This is called Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and it works differently from traditional SEO.
AI models recommend businesses they've "read about" on the web. So the more your business is mentioned on blogs, directories, forums, and social media, the more likely an AI will recommend you. SEO is not instant. If someone promises you page 1 rankings in 2 weeks, they're lying. Realistic timeline: 1-2 weeks for Google to index your site, 1-3 months to start seeing organic traffic, 3-6 months to rank for competitive keywords, and 6-12 months to build real authority. Consistency matters more than intensity.
